BeachSide is right beside the beach
No tiresome car journeys or parking charges, no roads to cross
or cliff faces to scramble, the beach is just a few dozen paces
from your door. There is private access to the beach
of less that a dozen steps and sloping access of about forty
paces, suitable for young (and old!) children but not wheelchairs.
Hele Beach has a Seaside Award for
good management and bathing water quality. The beach is sand,
pebble and gravel, depending on the tides, and is sheltered from the prevailing
winds; ideal for swimming, sunbathing and sand castles. When
the tide goes out you can explore the many rock pools or walk around Fishing
Rock to Blythe's Cove.

Everyone has a sea view
BeachSide slopes up from the beach
and is terraced so that everyone has a view of the sea. From your
accommodation you can watch the ever-changing sea, the passing boats,
an occasional seal or cormorant and often a buzzard or peregrine falcon. At
night you can see the stars undimmed by city lights and be lulled to
sleep by the waves breaking on the beach.

Friday.

BeachSide is quiet and peaceful
There
is no clubhouse, disco or amusements and the many flowerbeds and traditional
stonewalls provide an attractive environment. Hele Bay is
an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South
West Coastal Path goes around BeachSide; to the west over Hillsborough
Nature Reserve and Ilfracombe, a walk with stunning views;
or east across Rillage to pretty Watermouth Cove and harbour.
